About YARS/MVRC

Introduction

As of July 1, 2015, the Yolo Amateur Radio Society (YARS) and the Mt. Vaca Radio Club (MVRC) have merged.

YARS/MVRC is primarily a public service oriented club assisting with communications for many public events around the Sacramento Valley. These events include the Davis Double Century Bicycle Ride, Foxy's Fall Bike Ride, and many other local and regional events.

YARS/MVRC is an ARRL affilliated club.  Members of YARS/MVRC participate in ARRL's ARES program.  Learn more about Yolo ARES at www.yoloares.org.

Meetings

Visitors, licensed or not, are welcome at club meetings. Monthly meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month in the classroom building at the Explorit! Science Center location at 3141 Fifth Street, in Davis, California. We normally meet at 6:30 p.m. for dinner (arranged by the club), and the meeting begins at 7:30 p.m.

Membership Dues

Membership dues are payable July 1 of each year, and are prorated for those joining mid-year.

Dues may be paid in person at any club meeting, or my mail to the YARS/MVRC Treasurer, PO Box 4075, Davis CA 95617. Checks should be made payable to "Mt. Vaca Radio Club".

Membership dues help support the operation of the K6MVR repeater and the public service activies of MVRC/YARS.

Equipment

YARS/MVRC maintains an inventory of amateur radio equipment to loan to members and for special event use. You can view the current inventory. If you are interested in using some of the equipment, please contact a club officer.
