YARS 5 November 2013 Meeting Explorit Science Center Attending: Officers: Gary Matteson WA6TQJ, Vice President Rick Littlefield N6KLB, Secretary Dave Nishikawa KC6YFG, and Treasurer Ben Norman WA6NIK. Members: Rob Brunk N6KIX, Bob Hewitt K6HEW, Shayne Hughes N6SPE, and Bill Ragsdale K6KN. Guest Present: Bob Close KK6DUW. Meeting opened at 1930 hrs. by President Gary Matteson WA6TQJ with self-introductions all around. Treasurer Ben Norman WA6NIK reported a balance of $4,569.35. October Minutes were approved on a motion by Bill Ragsdale K6KN and seconded by Rick Littlefield. The recollection of those present had the September minutes approved previously. Old Business: President Gary Matteson WA6TQJ reported on the status of the MVRC repeater and the MVRC is out of the business of maintaining it. President Gary Matteson WA6TQJ reported on the status of UCDARC. Process is in motion to buy the equipment provided by Dave Nishikawa KC6YFG. He also reported that UCDARC is reorganizing and that operators on the Sacramento end of the linked 2-meter repeaters who were having trouble with tone decoding were advised to turn tone squelch off. President Gary Matteson WA6TQJ as communications coordinator for the Princess Promenade gave a report on the Princess Promenade and that YARS had received a check for $400.00 from the organizers as a donation. Membership voted to give $100.00 each to the K6IS and W6AK repeaters, $100.00 to W7KOZ in appreciation for his bringing his trailer to use as net control, with the remaining $100.00 to go to YARS to support equipment used for the event. Secretary Dave Nishikawa KC6YFG as SAG and Communications Coordinator for the Davis Bike Club’s Foxy’s Fall Century and participants present at the meeting gave a report on the ride.
