YARS March 6, 2012 Meeting Present: Officers: President Gary Matteson WA6TQJ, Vice-President Rick Littlefield N6KLB, Secretary Dave Nishikawa KC6YFG, and Treasurer Ben Norman WA6NIK. Members Present: Rob Brunk N6KIX, Kevin Grayson W6JKG, Bob Hewitt K6HEW, Allan Hollander KG6KDJ, Alison Kent KI6IMU, Greg Kruckewitt KG6SJT, Peter Millar Q6ZL, Marion Millar K6MZ, Daniel Nelson KJ6LVS, Charlie Porter N6JOA, Pam Porter N6OLO, Garry Pratt KA6VBR, Bill Ragsdale K6KN, and Robert Schulz KC6UDS. Meeting opened at 1930 hrs by President Gary Matteson WA6TQJ with self-introductions all around. Treasurer Ben Norman WA6NIK reported that the club held $4812 plus dues of $100 collected at the meeting. Minutes from the January and February 2012 meetings were approved on a motion by Rick Littlefield N6KLB secodned by Robert Schulz KC6UDS. It was decided to have the YARS for loan equipment be public but available only to members. Incorporating YARS was discussed. Bill Ragsdale K6KN gave a rundown on the various levels of club organizations. At this time he thought that the present structure as an unincorporated association was appropriate. The YARS Constitution will be emailed to the YARS list prior to the next meeting where possible changes could be discussed. President Gary Matteson WA6TQJ mentioned that Field Day this year will be at the South Davis Fire Station with the same plan as last year. Under new business, President Gary Matteson WA6TQJ mentioned a request for volunteers from John Berg K6JRB for volunteers for the upcoming inaugural United States Bicycling Hall of Fame Gran Fondo fund raiser on Sunday the 6th of May. He also passed out information and volunteer releases. Information on a free online course from MIT was handed out by President Gary Matteson WA6TQJ. President Gary Matteson mentioned that the Princess Promenade date has been changed this year to the second Sunday in October 14. A raffle was held for various items provided at the last meeting by Sacramento Valley Section Manager Ron Murdock, W6KJ. The program was presented by Pamela Porter N6OLO, a Nurse Practitioner from UCD Davis Health on first aid as it applies to event first responders. Meeting closed at approximately 2045 hours.
